22 July - Leg # 4 return : Tiblisi - Mestia( Georgia) 490 km

Late rise today, we had to recover from last night spent at the restaurant together with our Kazakh friends and local bikers.great people.
At 10.00 hours we were back on the saddle riding east, after few km we arrived at Gory, " Uncle Stalin" birth place. The house  where he was born is inside a dedicated park and it is keep in a pristine condition.
Left Gory riding different roads in the Georgia traffic. The local drivers are something to reckon with, few rules and not respected either, very challenging riding for us.
There are a lot of traffic police on the roads and they are very busy issuing traffic tickets as you will expect, but this seems not to bother the local drivers a bit.
After driving through the Zugdidi city we reached the Svaneti region and here, all of a sudden, the landscape changed again, we were surrounded by steep mountain picks, pine forests and water falls that and a lot of "suicidal" cows every where, quiet a few of them sitting comfortably in the middle of the road.
100 km later on we reached Mestia famous for his middle age towers built by the local families as a safe refuge against invaders. The elevation of Mestia is 1450 a.s.l.
Tomorrow we will get to Ishguly a UNESCO town famous for his towers as well, later in the afternoon we will teach Batumi on the shores of the black sea.
Today we enjoyed the riding, in particular in the Svaneti. Nice road, a lot of bends, as the bikers like.
Today we made 490 km, 2434 from start of the return journey.

Photos show fun biking roads in the mountains with all those bends - still, working for KPO we should all be used to "going round the bend" ! Take care,
