At 08.00 hours we were already on the saddles leaving Budapest in a sunny day, the air was fresh perfect riding conditions.
We cross Hungary and Slovakia very fast, riding on good highways through the towns of Kosice and Prestov. After that back to normal roads with heavy trucks traffic, it was less “boring” but at a lower speed. Lunch in Kapisova where there is a German and Russia tanks memorial to a WWII tank battle that took place there.
Entering into Polland the roads were even more congested with traffic, especially heavy trucks and the roads surfaces were poorly maintained. The traffic was really bad around the Rzesow and Lubin town in particular.
The general impression is that Poland economy is good and growing but it desperately needs better infrastructures and roads. We rode through never ending forests where locals were sitting on the road sides selling wild blueberries, strawberry and mushrooms.
We arrived at Horbow, 20 km from the Byelorussia border, at 20.00 hours where we stopped for the night to be able to cross the border early morning next day. Pork shaslik for dinner, restaurant in Poland and not only that are cheaper than in western Europe.
We rode most of the day on a flat land with nothing interesting catching our attention, the riders were tired after the challenging day on the saddles but happy about our performance in so far, all bikes are running smoothly without any problem.
Tomorrow we will cross Byelorussia, 550 km all the way to Holme just before the Russia border
Today we rode 794 km in 11 hours for a total of 1699 km in 20 hours since we started our journey.
