17 June - Leg # 3 : Horbow (Poland) - Gomel (Byelorussia ) - 555 km

The new day welcomed us with sun shining and a fresh morning air, we did not have one single rainy day  we have been very lucky in so far. After 20 km we reached and cross the Poland border with not troubles at all, it took 2.5 hours to clear the Byelorussia side of the border instead due to the long  queue and having to fill up temporary importation documents for the bikes and purchasing an additional medical insurance. Thanks God we all have a long experience in going through the Russia and Kazakhstan borders procedures and we took it all with easy “resignation”!!?? At last all the red tape had been cut, all the “I” been dot and “t” been crossed and we were through the check point riding our bikes on empty roads, in better conditions with sparse villages set in an intensive  agricultural crops farm land, quite a different scenario from what we found in Poland that apart from the “same” farmers selling strawberries, blueberries and mushrooms on the road side.

We rode under a clear sky through forests and fields after fields of wheat and corn, a beautiful country land scape.

We were afraid to bump into the “famous” Byelorussia police and being stop for checks but we saw very few of them.

We arrived at Gomel at 17.00 hours, close to the Russia border where we stop for the night.

Tomorrow we will cross into Russia  with the target to arrive in Tambov 800 km later but, depending on how long it will take to clear the Russia border formalities we could stop earlier in Lipesk.

Today we rode 55km in 07.00 hours, for a total of 2254 km in 27 hours since we started our journey
